Remote Position

National Sales Strategy Leader

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

The National Sales Strategy Leader builds and delivers the content that installs Empire Today’s sales process in the sales force, and is the National Sales team’s working partner to the departments whose initiatives have to land in the home. Working under the Director of National Sales Strategy & Enablement, the role turns the in-home consultation standard (IHX), the consultative questionnaire and the price and options presentation into playbooks, training and certification content, and develops the sales programs that carry Marketing, Merchandising, Pricing, Finance, IT and Learning & Development initiatives into trained selling behavior.

The Strategy Leader owns assigned programs end to end — from the cross-functional design work with the partner department, through content and training, pilot support and the handoff to the field — and gathers the evidence the Director uses to improve the standard. Unlike the National Area Sales Manager, whose accountability is market results, the Strategy Leader’s accountability is that every program arrives in the field complete, trained and measurable.

Responsibilities

Program Development with Enterprise Partners

  • Serve as the National Sales lead on assigned cross-functional programs: define with the partner department what has to change in the home, what the consultant needs to know and say, and how success will be measured, and build the program plan to deliver it.
  • With Marketing: translate promotions, offers and campaign messaging into in-home selling content, scripts and price-screen configuration, and align launch timing with field readiness.
  • With Merchandising and Pricing: turn product launches, assortment changes and pricing updates into product-knowledge content, sample-kit guidance and updates to the price and options presentation.
  • With Finance and lender partners: build the consultant-facing financing presentation, offer summaries and training for new lenders, products and the financing platform, in support of financing utilization targets.
  • With IT: represent the consultant and Field Sales Manager in requirements, testing and rollout of sales tools — AI sales coaching, the financing platform, the in-home price screen — so that tools fit the consultation as it is actually run.
  • With Learning & Development and Talent Acquisition: align IGNITE intake, content standards and the learning management system so that onboarding and certification run at the throughput the business needs.
  • Build the training, readiness materials and success-metric tracking for assigned pilots; support launches in market alongside the National Area Sales Managers; prepare the handoff package (documented standard, training plan, measurement plan) for national rollout.

Playbook and Content Development

  • Write and maintain the playbooks, job aids, scripts and reference material that document the IHX consultation standard, the consultative questionnaire and the price and options presentation, keeping them current with each approved revision.
  • Build selling-skills content in support of the standard: discovery and needs identification, presenting samples, objection handling, closing mechanics and the flexible-pay conversation.
  • Maintain version control and a single content library so that every market trains from the same material.

Onboarding, Certification and Facilitation

  • Facilitate IGNITE consultant onboarding cohorts and deliver ongoing consultant certification sessions, in person and virtually; own cohort scheduling, readiness and completion tracking for assigned programs.
  • Develop and deliver assigned modules of the Field Sales Manager certification and recertification program and the interim sales manager training.
  • Certify that participants meet the standard; report completion, results and gaps to the Director.

Field Evidence and Continuous Improvement

  • Ride along with consultants and Field Sales Managers, review AI-coaching recordings and KPI results for assigned programs, and document where the process or a partner department’s initiative breaks down in the home.
  • Recommend revisions to the standard, the content, the training or the partner’s program based on that evidence; incorporate approved changes into the next version.
  • Track adoption and results for assigned programs with the National Sales Analytics & Operations Manager and report them monthly to the Director and the partner department.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of in-home or direct-to-consumer sales experience, including consultative, single-visit selling; field sales management or sales training experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing programs with partner departments (marketing, merchandising, finance, IT or L&D) and carrying them through to field adoption.
  • Demonstrated experience building sales training content and facilitating it to adult learners, in person and virtually.
  • Ability to model the full in-home consultation credibly, including the financing presentation, and to coach it.
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems and content standards; instructional-design experience preferred.
  • Program and project management skill: able to run several programs and cohorts at once to a schedule, with stakeholders who do not report to the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate influentially, verbal and written, with consultants, market leadership, partner departments and the national team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Empire sales systems.
  • Office or remote-based role; 25%+ travel required, to markets for cohort facilitation, certification delivery, pilot support and field observation.
