About the Role
Proven Recruiting is seeking a Network Security Engineer with strong, hands-on Fortinet experience to support a growing, multi-site network environment in Tempe, Arizona. As the organization expands through acquisitions, this role will help strengthen, standardize, and maintain security infrastructure across dozens of locations. The engineer will work closely with the network team on Fortinet deployments, security upgrades, troubleshooting, and infrastructure improvements. This position requires strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to support network security systems across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain secure network infrastructure using the Fortinet security stack. Configure and support FortiGate firewalls, including high availability, IPsec VPNs, and unified threat management features. Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot FortiClient EMS, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer. Support web filtering policies and standardize security configurations across corporate and remote locations. Upgrade and maintain remote firewalls and support network security deployments across multiple sites. Assist with deploying and supporting FortiGate virtual machines in Azure. Monitor network activity, investigate security threats, and respond to incidents and anomalies. Troubleshoot complex network security issues and provide Level 3 technical support.
Required Qualifications
At least two years of experience in network security engineering, including recent hands-on Fortinet experience. Strong working knowledge of FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiClient EMS. Familiarity with Fortinet technologies such as FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiMonitor. Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, network segmentation, and secure remote access. Experience with routing, switching, and multi-site network environments. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical challenges independently. Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical teams and share feedback. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Compensation
Expected pay range: $45–$55 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
