Network Infrastructure Engineer
In this role, you will be responsible for authenticating incoming requests and ensuring the security of edge and internal networks. You will work with modern networking technologies to build and evolve a multi-cloud platform that supports engineering teams at scale. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about networking infrastructure, traffic management, and solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior engineers to build, scale, and maintain the networking stack, including Nginx, Istio, and HAProxy, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Manage and optimize global traffic routing and DNS using AWS Route 53 and CloudFront CDN. Implement and maintain secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for incoming requests. Optimize load-balancing strategies and traffic routing to ensure high availability and low latency across containerized workloads. Use monitoring and observability tools to ensure network health and troubleshoot production networking incidents. Partner with application teams to understand their compute requirements, providing guidance and support to help them effectively leverage the Kubernetes platform. Contribute to documentation covering infrastructure designs and operational procedures. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience in software or systems engineering, with a focus on networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS. Hands-on experience with service mesh and load-balancing technologies such as Istio, HAProxy, or Nginx. Demonstrated experience with load balancers, including ALBs, NLBs, HAProxy, and Nginx, and cloud networking services. Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts, including virtual machines, networking, and storage, with experience using a major cloud provider; AWS is preferred. Strong desire to learn and grow in platform engineering, compute infrastructure, and cloud-native technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Istio service mesh, AWS CloudFront, and Route 53. Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), or other modern authentication and security protocols. Exposure to cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, DNS, and load balancers.
