Network Planning Engineer

We currently have an urgent opening for a Network Planning Engineer III, Fully remote Network Planning Engineer III Location: Fully Remote – U.S. Duration: Long-Term Contract Pay: $55.50/hour on W2 + Benefits Experience: 5+ years We are looking for an experienced Network Planning Engineer III to support the planning and evolution of large-scale telecommunications transport networks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in transport network planning, capacity management, telecom engineering, and network growth planning, along with hands-on experience using engineering/planning systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop network growth, capacity, and evolution plans for transport networks. Prepare detailed planning packages for engineering and field implementation teams. Support transport network planning across backbone and metropolitan networks. Analyze network capacity, inventory, and engineering data. Support capital and expense budget planning and monthly project estimates. Work with transport technologies including SONET, WDM, and telecom infrastructure. Collaborate with engineering, design, field, and project teams. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members. Support short-term projects and take on project coordination/leadership responsibilities. Required Qualifications 5+ years of telecommunications/network planning experience. Strong knowledge of transport network planning and capacity management. Experience with SONET and/or WDM technologies. Understanding of telecom infrastructure, central office systems, outside plant, and engineering principles. Experience with network planning/engineering systems such as TIRKS, Metasolv, ASPEN, LCAM, Fireworks, CORE, or similar tools. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
