Online Teachers Wanted: Game-Based Learning, STEM & Technology
Job Summary Creative Courses Group is seeking several engaging, dependable independent contractor educators to teach live online classes to learners ages 7–18. We are expanding our science, math, history, and technology offerings and looking for teachers who make learning exciting through games, interactive challenges, storytelling, and creative projects. Applicants may specialize in one or more subjects and should identify the age groups they are qualified to teach. You do not need to teach every subject listed. Teaching Opportunities We welcome expertise in:
- Game-based math, problem-solving, puzzles, and educational escape rooms.
- Minecraft science, engineering, and Redstone challenges.
- Interactive history, geography, historical mysteries, and civilization-building projects.
- Roblox Studio, game design, and introductory scripting.
- Tinkercad, beginner 3D modeling, and design for 3D printing.
- Virtual robotics, micro, and beginner electronics.
- Coding.
Teachers must follow provided class guidelines and learning objectives while delivering clear, age-appropriate instruction. Lessons should give learners opportunities to participate, create, solve problems, and demonstrate understanding. Classes are held live on Zoom through Creative Courses Group’s Outschool organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach engaging lessons in your area of expertise.
- Break instructions into manageable steps and adapt pacing to learners’ needs.
- Maintain a welcoming, supportive classroom.
- Follow Creative Courses Group and Outschool policies.
- Maintain your agreed teaching availability and communicate scheduling concerns promptly.
- Respond to ALL correspondence from Creative Courses Group and Outschool within 24 hours, including parent and student messages.
For technology classes, teachers must identify all required software, accounts, devices, subscriptions, and hardware before a class is developed. Any costs to the organization, instructor, or families must be disclosed. Free or low-cost tools are preferred. Required Qualifications & Availability Applicants must:
- Be ready to begin onboarding immediately.
- Have available hours to teach and provide a clear schedule of availability.
- Have relevant subject knowledge and experience teaching or working with children or teens.
- Be able to provide applicable teaching certificates and/or college degrees supporting their qualifications.
- Complete and pass the required background check. Applicants must have no felony convictions.
- Have reliable internet, a webcam, a microphone, and a suitable teaching space.
- Be comfortable teaching live on Zoom and troubleshooting the tools used in their classes.
- Not currently teach on Outschool. We use Outschool’s platform and are seeking applicants who are not already teaching there.
- Meet all onboarding deadlines and answer ALL application qualification questions completely.
Required Teaching Profile Setup As part of onboarding, teachers must upload the following to their teaching account:
- Applicable teaching certificates and/or college degrees supporting their qualifications.
- A clear profile photo.
- A short teacher bio highlighting relevant education, teaching experience, subject expertise, and teaching approach.
These items must be added to the teaching account before onboarding is considered complete. Please apply only if you are prepared to provide these materials promptly. Onboarding Deadlines Within three days of hire, teachers must:
- Sign the contract and terms.
- Email a 5–10 minute video introduction that includes a mini mock lesson. (see requirements below)
Required Video Content Your video must include:
- A brief introduction covering your relevant education, credentials, teaching experience, and the subjects and ages you can teach.
- A mini mock lesson from a class you would like to teach. State the intended age group and learning goal, then teach as though learners are attending.
- Clear, step-by-step instruction that demonstrates appropriate pacing.
- An engagement opportunity, such as a question, challenge, puzzle, or learner choice. Actual students do not need to appear.
- A screen demonstration if you propose teaching software, coding, or digital building.
- A brief recap of what learners would have learned or created.
Record with your camera on, clear audio, adequate lighting, and a suitable teaching background. For screen demonstrations, keep your webcam visible if possible and ensure the tools and text are readable. We evaluate subject knowledge, teaching clarity, pacing, enthusiasm, and learner engagement. An introduction alone does not meet the requirement; the video must include actual teaching. Email the video as an attachment or a viewable link. Confirm that the link opens without requesting access.
