Operations Manager, Purchasing & Fulfillment
About Surge Surge Supply Co. is an end-to-end supply chain software company for foodservice packaging. Convenience-store and foodservice chains use our platform to manage their custom cups, lids, bags and food packaging in one place: catalog, artwork, approvals, production, inventory and shipment tracking. We're seed-funded, growing fast, and launching several new chain programs this quarter. The role You'll own every purchase order at Surge, from placement with our factories through production, delivery and invoicing. You'll also run outbound fulfillment: getting each customer order out of the right warehouse, on time and accurate. You'll work directly with our founder and CTO, and the job has a clear path to leading operations as we scale. This is a purchasing and order-management role on the brand side. You'll book and manage carriers and warehouses, but this isn't a dispatch or freight brokerage job. What you'll do Place and manage purchase orders with our overseas factories, and hold them to quoted production and ship dates Catch delays early, find a workaround, and keep our team and customers informed Process customer orders: choose the right warehouse, approve shipping quotes, book delivery appointments and follow each order through to delivery and invoicing Plan inventory and reorders so key items never run out and cash isn't tied up in excess stock Keep delivery-compliance fees from our distributors low, and dispute the ones that shouldn't stand Keep our order and inventory data accurate, and help improve our automation and AI tools You might be a fit if you have 3–8 years in purchasing, order management or supply chain operations at a CPG brand, wholesaler or distributor Experience managing POs with suppliers, ideally overseas, from order through delivery Strong attention to detail and clear written communication Comfort with factories and partners across time zones A preference for tools like Airtable and AI over spreadsheets and manual work Energy for building a playbook that isn't finished yet Nice to have: sourcing from China, import and customs paperwork, foodservice packaging, or selling through distributors like Core-Mark. Compensation: $72,000–$85,000 base + equity + performance bonus. Remote (US).
