Oracle to DB2 Database Migration Consultant

Job Title: Oracle to DB2 Database Migration Consultant Location: Remote Duration: 3 Months contract Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Oracle to DB2 Migration Consultant to lead and support enterprise database migration initiatives from Oracle environments to IBM DB2 platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in database architecture, data migration, performance tuning, SQL conversion, and migration strategies for large-scale mission-critical applications. Responsibilities: Assess existing Oracle database environments and develop migration strategies to IBM DB2. Perform schema, table, index, view, and stored procedure conversions. Convert Oracle PL/SQL packages, triggers, functions, and procedures into DB2-compatible code. Execute data migration, data validation, and reconciliation activities. Conduct performance benchmarking and tuning post-migration. Required Skills: Strong experience with Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c). Hands-on experience with IBM DB2 LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) or DB2 z/OS. Proven experience in Oracle to DB2 migration projects. Expertise in PL/SQL to DB2 SQL PL conversion. Strong knowledge of database schema conversion, data mapping, and ETL processes. Experience with migration tools such as IBM InfoSphere DataStage, IBM Database Conversion Workbench (DCW), IBM Data Movement Tool, or equivalent. Strong SQL optimization and performance tuning skills. Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions. Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
