Mission and objectives
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace, and security.
Context
From 25 November to 10 December 2026 mark the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-based Violence, under the global theme: “UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls: Ensure Justice, Protect Survivors, End Impunity”.
In the Arab States, the regional campaign will translate the global theme into a simple public-facing question: And Then? وبعدين؟ The campaign will look beyond the occurrence of violence to what happens next - whether survivors can access protection and support, whether justice is available, whether accountability follows, and what role institutions, communities, partners and individuals can play in ending impunity.
The key objective of the assignment is to expand the reach and engagement of the “And Then? – وبعدين؟” regional campaign by mobilizing a network of online volunteers from the Arab States region to share UN Women campaign content on their personal social media accounts during the 16 Days of Activism. Online volunteers play a key role in carrying these messages to wider audiences across the region and in sparking conversation among their own networks and communities.
Guidelines for volunteers 1. Use only the content, captions and hashtags provided in the campaign toolkit or align original posts with the campaign key messages. 2. Use the official campaign hashtags: [#16Days #AndThen #وبعدين – to be confirmed]. 3. Do not share personal stories or identifying information of survivors, and do not alter campaign visuals or UN Women logos. 4. Do not engage with hostile or abusive comments. Report any online harassment linked to the campaign to the UN Women focal point. 5. Posts should remain public for the duration of the campaign so they can be verified.
