Remote Position

Part-Time Social Media & Community VA — Parenting Podcast (US Eastern Hrs., 10–15 hrs/week, ongoing)

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

Job Description “Ask Dr. Childcare” is a parenting podcast hosted by a recognized early-childhood-education authority — owner of four preschools, decades in the field, and a published parenting author. Our episodes, thumbnails, and short-form reels are produced by our editing team. We are NOT asking you to create content from scratch. We need a reliable, sharp person to curate and distribute our ready-made assets on a consistent schedule, engage our parent community, keep our website episode pages current, and report results clearly. What you'll do (10–15 hrs/week) •Curate & schedule: From the clips and thumbnails our editor provides, select the strongest cuts (hook in the first 2 seconds, one idea per clip) and drip-release them across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn on a steady weekly calendar — never all at once. Flag weak thumbnails and improve them with light Canva edits.

  • Community engagement: Reply to comments and DMs across ALL platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and any others) in our brand voice during US daytime hours; flag anything needing the host personally.
  • Website upkeep (WordPress): As each episode goes live, update our WordPress site (drchildcare.org) so each episode's page/folder is correct and all downloadable parent resources and links referenced in the videos work properly. (Editor-level access only; no hosting or admin work.)
  • Active reach: Share episodes/clips into relevant parenting Facebook groups (always respecting group rules), light cross-promotion, occasional outreach to aligned parenting accounts.
  • Weekly approval prep: Each week, assemble the planned posts into one short summary for the host's quick 2-minute thumbs-up before anything goes live.
  • Analysis-ready monthly report: A simple, consistent report (format provided) covering what was posted, top/bottom performers, watch-time and click-through trends, and recurring themes from parent comments.

Grows into (month 2+, for the right person)

  • Light email triage for our general inboxes (info@, admin@) — sorting routine parent questions and DRAFTING replies for approval. This is a flag-and-draft role, not autonomous sending, and is added only after you've learned our voice and shown good judgment.

You must have

  • Based in the US, available during Eastern Time business hours.
  • Native-level written English and a warm, natural voice for parent community engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social accounts and scheduling tools (share examples).
  • A good eye for short-form video — you can tell a scroll-stopping clip from a dull one.
  • Basic WordPress skills (editing pages, posts, links, and media as an Editor-level user).
  • Comfort pulling basic metrics from YouTube Studio / Meta Business Suite.
  • Reliability and clear, proactive weekly communication.

Nice to have

  • You're a parent of young children (newborn–8).
  • Existing presence in parenting Facebook groups/communities.
  • Podcast or creator-distribution experience; light Canva skills.

Tools YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, TikTok, a scheduler (Buffer/Later/etc.), WordPress, light Canva. Compensation $600–$1,200/month depending on experience and hours. Begins with a paid 2-week trial so we can confirm fit before an ongoing commitment. To apply, please answer 1. Where are you based, and what are your available Eastern-time hours? 2. Name one or two accounts/communities you've managed or grown (with any before/after detail). 3. How would you turn one finished podcast episode plus ~12 ready-made clips into a full week of posts across platforms? Be specific about which clips you'd lead with and why, and about timing/sequence.
