Role Description The Payroll Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing for employees. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing payroll runs, validating time and attendance data, and ensuring correct application of payroll taxes and deductions. The role involves administering garnishments, coordinating with payroll service providers, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist will also respond to payroll-related inquiries, maintain detailed records, assist with audits and reporting, and collaborate with finance and HR to support continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing, with experience managing regular cycles and off-cycle payments. Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and working with Payroll Services or platforms to ensure compliant, accurate calculations. Experience handling Garnishments and other statutory or court-ordered payroll deductions. Familiarity with payroll systems and spreadsheets; ability to analyze data and reconcile discrepancies. Understanding of relevant labor, tax, and compliance regulations. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential information responsibly. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Prior experience in payroll, accounting, or finance; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Salary range: $40,000 - $55,000
