PLM Lead
We are partnering with a client to find a hands-on PLM Lead to own platform selection, configuration, and rollout for a greenfield discrete manufacturing facility. The facility produces components for hyperscale data center programs, and the PLM system is being built from scratch — no legacy to work around, no incumbent vendor. This is not a PLM administration role. You'll own the selection decision, configure the system, define the BOM structure and part numbering schema, and build the integration to ERP. What you set up in the first 90 days will define how this company manages its product data across multiple facilities.
What You'll Do
Lead PLM vendor evaluation: contribute to scoring criteria, run vendor demos, and shape the final recommendation Own PLM configuration and rollout from selection through go-live Define BOM structure, part numbering schema, and engineering change management workflows Build and validate the PLM-to-ERP integration for BOM and part master handoff Coordinate CAD-to-PLM integration (SolidWorks is in use) Develop document control processes and lifecycle phase definitions Support operator and engineer onboarding to the PLM system
What We're Looking For
You have direct PLM implementation experience — not administration, not document control, but implementation ownership. You've configured a PLM system, defined its data structures, and gotten engineers to actually use it. You've built or overseen a PLM-to-ERP integration and you understand how BOM data flows from engineering through manufacturing. Familiarity with Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE, Arena, or similar platforms is expected. SolidWorks integration experience is a strong plus given the client's existing CAD environment. Must-Have Based in the United States Direct PLM implementation experience with at least one go-live you owned BOM structure design and part numbering schema definition experience PLM-to-ERP integration experience Experience with engineering change management workflow configuration Hands-on configuration experience — not governance or administration only TeamCenter Experience.
Nice to Have
SolidWorks or CAD-to-PLM integration experience Experience with multiple PLM platforms Discrete manufacturing environment experience Multi-site PLM rollout experience Consulting or client-facing implementation background Logistics Remote (US-based), full-time, with occasional travel to client site (~10%).
