Remote Position

Presentation Designer

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

Who We Are

Ingage is a 37-person SaaS company headquartered in Yardley, PA. We build the sales content platform used by home improvement and home services companies to win bigger deals and close more of them. When a homeowner sits down with a roofer or a window installer, the presentation that contractor walks them through is often built in Ingage. Our customers aren't designers. Their stakes are real — a single deal can be $40,000. The quality of the story they tell at the kitchen table is the difference between a close and a callback.

Our job is to make every rep their best rep.

The Opportunity

We're hiring two presentation designers, on contract, to work alongside our existing designer Alyssa and become part of the small, high-output design team that defends and grows customer revenue. You'll come in as a freelance consultant inside the company — managing your own client relationships, your own deadlines, your own workload. You'll redesign customer presentations, present and sell that work to the customer directly, and ship templates back into our marketplace that other Ingage users will adopt and build on.

This is contract by design, not by accident. We hire slow and on purpose. People here are happy. If this is working, the path to full-time happens well before twelve months — our engineering team has done it repeatedly. If it isn't working, we'll move fast in the other direction, and we're honest about that up front.

The Challenge We're Solving

Our company priority is reducing churn. The biggest churn signal we see is customers who aren't happy with their content. Today, design help inside Ingage is bottlenecked — our team is booked four weeks out, and our CX team self-censors requests because they know she's slammed. The overflow goes to an outside vendor we don't control, and we've seen the quality and speed problems that creates. We need this work inside the building, in our hands, where we can defend the revenue it protects.

Success Outcomes

1. Within 90 days — Carry a real project load. You're ramped on Ingage by week five and operating at roughly 25 hours of scoped design work per week. By the end of your first quarter, you've completed around 280 hours of customer refresh work — projects that would otherwise have been routed to outside vendors, sat in the backlog, or landed on Alyssa.

2. Within 6 months — Become indispensable. You're operating independently. You're no longer dependent on a single CX team member to route work to you — multiple CSMs request you by name. Your work has materially contributed to defending revenue at renewal and expanding existing accounts. Customers are sending unprompted shout-outs — the "couldn't live without them" kind. You're contributing regularly to the Ingage marketplace, turning real customer work into reusable templates the broader user base benefits from.

3. Within 12 months — Earn the conversion. We're in a position to make you a full-time employee. Your marketplace contributions are getting selected and presented by real contractors closing real deals — you're making hits, not just shipping volume. You're capable of mentoring the next contract designer we bring in. And you've helped us shape the frameworks for how design services get offered to customers, including what's included with subscription and what earns paid expansion.

What You'll Work With

You'll work alongside Alyssa, our presentation designer, and Sara, who handles enterprise and channel partner work. Sean covers marketing design. Alex (Creative Director) oversees the team. You'll report into Alex but spend most days running your own queue. The CX team — your internal customers — work primarily East Coast and Central time. End customers can be anywhere from Maine to Hawaii.

Tools, software, and an Ingage seat are all provided. You're remote. If you happen to be near Yardley, PA, the office is open and you're welcome anytime.

Why This Is Different

You're not a billable hour here. We don't make money on your time. We make money when our customers grow, so the entire reason you exist is to help that happen — not to clock activity.

You'll also run your own ship. There are no project managers between you and the customer. You set deadlines, present and sell your own work, and own whether the customer is happy. CX has your back, but they're along for the ride. The right designer reads that and leans in.

Your best work gets seen. Marketplace templates you build can end up in hundreds of customer presentations. That's a rare thing — most designers spend their career making things that live in one folder for one client.

You'll learn from a proven model. Alyssa is the archetype we're hiring against, and you'll get to work next to her while you ramp.

And there's a real conversion path. We don't use contract as a way to dodge headcount. We use it to make sure we hire the right people, and we move them to full-time as soon as we know.

What We're Honest About

Year one is a lot of the same kind of work. In-home sales presentation refreshes, over and over. The variety — enterprise, marketing, marketplace, channel partner — is real, but it comes later. If grinding through fifty roofing presentations sounds tedious to you, this isn't the role.

Your customers have never worked with a designer before. This will be the most sophisticated piece of content they've ever produced, and they'll look to you for answers they can't fully articulate themselves. You'll have to read between the lines, pattern-match from work you've seen succeed elsewhere, and propose with confidence. There's a real learning curve.

You'll have a lot in flight. Some projects will sit waiting on customer input for weeks. Comfort with that rhythm matters.

The frameworks for how design gets allocated and scoped are being built in real time. You'll feel some of that.

And the vertical isn't glamorous on paper. If you need clients you can name-drop at a design meetup, this isn't it. If you find satisfaction in helping a window installer close more deals, you'll love it.

Our Culture

We run the design team like Olympic snowboarders — every rider pushing the next one to land bigger tricks. We want designers doing moves we haven't thought of yet. Moves that make our eyes explode.

In your first month, the signal we look for is whether you grasp the value of interactive content — not just slides, not just decks, but presentations that change how a conversation feels.

We're Slack-first, Notion for project tracking, async-friendly. We're direct, we're results-oriented, and we hold a high bar with grace. Dean (our CEO) leads with what we call 10-80-10 — direction, ownership, completion. The team carries the eighty. We value AI fluency and reward people who use it to move faster and teach others.

What drives us crazy:

  • Too much text on the screen
  • PowerPoint smells
  • Sloppy layouts
  • Bad typography
  • Image selection that doesn't convey an emotion
  • Gratuitous laser beam ornamentations

If you read that list and nodded, we should probably talk.
