Principal AI Engineer

To drive the development of the Vector Store GenAI Platform, the full-time Principal AI Engineer will set technical direction and hands-on build for document intelligence and retrieval systems, working remotely to enhance search quality and integration with AI workflows. Key responsibilities Own platform architecture and delivery for the Vector Store GenAI Platform, focusing on search, retrieval, document processing, and ingestion pipelines Set technical direction for hybrid search quality, evaluating models and driving production adoption through POCs and benchmarks Partner with stakeholders to define success metrics and prioritize workstreams while ensuring platform operability and quality improvements Required qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree in clinical or life sciences is a plus 10+ years of software engineering experience with substantial ownership of production systems at scale 5+ years of experience building AI/ML-powered applications, particularly in retrieval-augmented systems and document-centric AI pipelines Strong hands-on expertise in Python and modern software engineering practices, including testing and agile delivery Experience designing and operating AI systems in cloud environments, preferably AWS, with knowledge of CI/CD and production support Experience: 10 years required
