Technical Startup Cofounder, KindHost Franchise Platform Remote | Equity About KindHost KindHost Property Management is a boutique firm on the Westside of Los Angeles, managing luxury single-family homes and small multifamily buildings in Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Brentwood, and surrounding areas. I’m taking what’s worked at KindHost and turning it into a franchise model, so other operators can run their own KindHost offices with the same systems, brand, and standards. The opportunity I’m looking for a technical cofounder to build the platform that franchisees will run their entire business on. This isn’t an integration layer on top of existing software. It’s meant to be the system of record, combining the best parts of tools like AppFolio and Buildium into something cleaner and built specifically for residential property management. A business plan is in place. The next step is turning it into production software, and that’s where you come in. What you’ll own Software engineering and overall technical architecture Database design and management, including multi-tenant structure and financial data integrity Core modules: rent roll, accounting, bill pay, owner and tenant portals, leasing and screening, and franchisee onboarding Payments infrastructure and the franchise service fee model Security, access controls, and scaling as franchisees come online Technical hiring and vendor decisions as the company grows Experience VC pitching and funding in tandem with me Business development in tandem with me Who I’m looking for Experience building in proptech, fintech, or both Comfort with ledger logic, payments, or accounting systems (trust accounting experience is a plus) Appfolio or Buildium Experience a plus Full-stack capability and willingness to build v1 largely hands-on Self-directed and comfortable working remotely with a small team Someone who wants real ownership and a long-term partnership, not a contract project What I bring Deep real estate private equity experience. FP&A, Hands-on experience running a property management company day to day, an operating business to pilot the platform on, and the franchise framework already mapped out.
