# QA Database Tester ## About the Role Eliassen Group is seeking a QA Database Tester to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role is focused on database testing, complex SQL, test automation, API testing, and comprehensive quality assurance practices. The successful candidate will collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to validate applications against business and technical requirements. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity requiring candidates to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following the contract duration. ## Key Responsibilities Collaborate with team members to define, develop, and execute test strategies for new and existing applications. Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on user stories and business requirements. Validate database functionality and data integrity using advanced SQL queries. Write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for database testing and validation. Identify, document, and track defects through resolution. Perform API testing using Postman, SOAP-based testing platforms, or similar tools. Create and maintain automated tests. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Work with Developers, Business Analysts, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to build quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, test automation, and quality standards. ## Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on Quality Assurance and Testing. Experience creating and maintaining automated tests. Strong SQL and database testing skills, including the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries. Experience with Snowflake and/or DB2 databases. Experience performing API testing using Postman, SOAP, or similar tools. Knowledge of scripting languages used for test automation. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. ## Preferred Qualifications Experience with Property & Casualty Insurance Policy Administration Systems. Commercial Lines insurance experience. Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving. Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
