Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGeneral Placement Service is recruiting for their client, a financially strong and growing insurance organization seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead reinsurance accounting and support enterprise-level financial reporting and process improvement initiatives.This role oversees reinsurance accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, and serves as a technical resource to senior leadership.The position plays a key role in strengthening internal controls, supporting audits, and driving efficiencies across finance operations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage reinsurance accounting, including premium calculations, payables, recoverables, invoicing, and general ledger reconciliationEnsure reinsurance activity is accurately reflected in financial statements and regulatory reporting, including Schedule FResearch and resolve reconciliation issues and oversee corrective actionsAnalyze reinsurance cost trends and explain significant variances to leadershipSupport monthly close, consolidated financial reporting, and internal control compliancePartner with external auditors and regulatory examinersContribute to finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign, documentation, and automationProvide technical accounting guidance to FP&A and cross-functional teamsPerform ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and special projects.
