[Remote] Accounting Coordinator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sentara Health is hiring an Accounting Coordinator to support day-to-day accounting operations within its healthcare organization. The role processes financial transactions, maintains records, performs reconciliations, and assists with close activities, audits, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile cash-related transactions, deposits, adjustments, and accounts receivable activities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation to ensure integrity of financial information
• Perform routine account reconciliations and assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within the general ledger
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial documentation
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation by gathering required documentation and supporting financial reporting requests
• Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and healthcare finance standards
• Partner with internal departments, finance teams, and external vendors to resolve questions, research discrepancies, and support efficient financial operations

Skills

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• 1 year or more in accounting, finance or related field
