Branch Behavioral Health Services (Branch BHS) is seeking a qualified contract-based Medical Assistant to join our growing team and support providers in delivering exceptional virtual psychiatric and behavioral health care. Position: Virtual Medical Assistant (Independent Contractor) Type: 1099 Contract Location: 100% Remote Schedule: Flexible (part-time hours, Monday–Friday) Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
• 5 + years of experience in behavioral or mental health preferred
• Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., SimplePractice, CharmHealth, or similar)
• Proficiency in computer skills, Word, email, PDF, etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable internet connection and HIPAA-compliant remote setup
• Two professional references required.
• Criminal background check dated within the last six months required prior to onboarding.
• Applicants must be able to complete all onboarding requirements within the specified timeframe.
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and independent follow-through are essential.

Responsibilities

Include:

• Conducting virtual patient intake and follow-up communications
• Managing electronic health records (EHR) and uploading documents
• Coordinating lab orders, prescriptions, and prior authorizations
• Assisting with appointment scheduling and reminders
• Communicating with pharmacies, insurance providers, and patients
• Supporting providers with day-to-day administrative tasks

Compensation:

• $15/hour to start, increasing to $17/hour after 90 days based on satisfactory performance. Performance evaluations will be conducted every six months for the first two years, with eligibility for additional raises at each review based on performance, reliability, and job responsibilities.
