Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer – Finance Operations to support cloud cost visibility, allocation, forecasting, and optimization across a large enterprise cloud environment. The role combines cloud infrastructure, Terraform, financial analysis, and cloud cost optimization while partnering with engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Analyze cloud spend, investigate anomalies, and track run rate against business cases
- Drive optimization through rightsizing, storage tiering, scheduling, and idle resource cleanup
- Design and enforce cloud tagging and cost allocation models
- Build showback reporting, budgets, forecasting, and anomaly detection
- Manage Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and other cloud commitments
- Provide cost guidance for architecture reviews and cloud migration planning
- Partner with engineering teams to build cost efficiency into infrastructure and CI/CD
- Translate cloud cost findings for finance and executive audiences
Skills
- 4+ years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud engineering, or infrastructure
- Strong experience with AWS and Azure billing and cost management
- Experience with Cost Explorer, CUR, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances
- Experience with AWS Organizations and/or Azure Subscriptions in multi-account environments
- Demonstrated success reducing cloud costs with quantifiable results
- SQL experience for cost and usage analysis
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
- Remote – East Coast
- Travel to Jacksonville, FL expected
- FinOps Certified Practitioner
- Familiarity with the FOCUS specification
- Python or similar scripting experience
- Terraform and CI/CD pipeline experience
- Experience managing costs across multiple cloud platforms
- Enterprise Discount Program, MACC, or Migration Acceleration Program experience
- Chargeback experience in a regulated environment
- Experience with FinOps tools such as Flexera, Cloudability, or Harness
