[Remote] Cloud Managed Services Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Planet Technologies is a Microsoft services provider serving public sector and commercial organizations. The Cloud Managed Services Consultant partners with clients to support AWS and Azure cloud growth, design and maintain cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot Linux and cloud issues, and provide technical guidance, optimization, and ongoing managed services.

Responsibilities

• Surface and analyze customer business requirements
• Translate requirements into an architectural design and influence the deployment of key infrastructure components
• Design, construct, configure, and maintain all facets of an AWS Subscription/Tenants
• Plan and execute an end-to-end implementation of the target workload
• CI/CD development pipeline work
• Troubleshooting AWS and Linux issues as our Subject Matter Expertise
• Cost and performance optimization of server and cloud resources
• Maintain a thorough understanding of existing and emerging Azure and related core technologies
• Be up to date on new technologies within Azure that could benefit customers
• Understand and be comfortable with multiple Azure technologies/products and be able to assist clients in the exploration, initial setup, and support of those technologies
• Desired SME skillset for a few select technologies for which you could ask as the team's internal expert and escalation point. (Example - Infrastructure as a code, AKS, VMware, Linux, Database, Security, Virtual Desktop, AWS etc.)
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Skills

• Deep knowledge of Linux OS and its supported technologies and systems
• AWS Cloud experience and expertise
• Azure Cloud experience and expertise
• Cloud Core Platforms (AWS and Azure): Compute, Storage, Networking, Virtual Machines, Identity and Access Management (IAM Identity Center), Security and Compliance (AWS Security Hub), Federation with external identity Platforms, Infrastructure required
• Linux System administrator experience, OS management, patching, application management, etc
• Creates processes, documentation, and sets standards in several practice areas
• Will demonstrate technical Lead skills and support customer projects
• Will be able to implement related technologies and understand their direct dependencies
• Ability to navigate new or unknown technical areas and quickly get up to speed to support customer requirements
• Professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to proactively respond to internal/external questions and collaborate across internal/external teams
• Will be able to solve problems efficiently in complex environments and suggest process improvement or standardization as requested and/or needed
• Expertise and demonstrate a proactive approach to help customers make critical decisions around features and capabilities, and referring additional products or services within the specific areas of technical competence if needed and/or required for the customer
• Must possess the experience and knowledge of when to articulate escalations and communicate progress to stakeholders effectively
• Experience with AWS or Azure Government highly desired
• Kubernetes, containers, are highly desired
• Governance experience is preferred
• Linux experience with Red Hat Enterprise, Ubuntu and GNOME is desired
• Any Linux Technical certifications are preferred, especially related to system administration at scale in Cloud environments
• Any AWS Technical certifications are preferred, especially related to the core technology stack of Amazon Web Services
• Any Azure Technical certifications are preferred, especially related to the core technology stack of Microsoft Cloud
