Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Nityo Infotech is hiring a COBOL Engineer to maintain COBOL production systems, resolve backlog work, and support mainframe and CICS applications. The role also includes UAT testing, learning GitLab pipelines for code migration, and exploring COBOL modernization through Python or Java rewrites.

Responsibilities

  • COBOL Maintenance & Backlog: Development for COBOL production issues and backlog stories
  • Mainframe Emulation: Learn the system and support PROD
  • CICS Application: Discovery and migration
  • Testing: Perform COBOL testing/validations in UAT
  • CI/CD: Learn GitLab Pipeline for code migration to UAT/PROD
  • Modernization: PoC/COBOL rewrites into Python/Java
