[Remote] Contractor, Data Analytics-Product/UPC Data

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Inmar Intelligence captures and stores product codes and product information for retail, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing clients. The Contract Data Analyst classifies UPC product data by identifying products and assigning Inmar’s taxonomy, manufacturer, and brand, while supporting data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Understand Inmar’s proprietary hierarchy/taxonomy structure and categorization definitions (800+ different categorizations) * Inmar’s taxonomy is based on US grocery store products and US grocery store merchandising locations (where items are shelved in store) * Familiarity with US grocery products and merchandising is imperative
• Data Entry - efficiently and accurately perform data entry tasks with accurate spelling and capitalization
• Research - Identify the product (what is it)
• Identification - appropriately assign a manufacturer, brand, and Inmar’s taxonomy to each product (i.e., dairy department, yogurt category, Greek yogurt subcategory) based on Inmar’s definitions
• Assist in managing data integrity - support data management efforts by identifying errors in data categorization or manufacturer/brand assignment
• Attention to Detail - maintain a meticulous approach to data handling to ensure accuracy and reliability in all data processes

Skills

• Minimum Highschool Diploma or GED required
• Google/internet search proficiency
• Must have knowledge of food and non-food products that are sold through US grocery retail
• Must be familiar with US grocery store layouts (departments) and what is merchandised in each location
• Analytical and Critical Thinking: Ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
• Problem Solving: Gathers and analyzes information to generate and evaluate potential solutions to problems, issues and challenges while weighing the accuracy and relevance of the facts, data and information
• Communication: Giving and receiving messages and information in written, oral, and visual formats concisely for a complete understanding of meaning and intent
• Effective Execution: Gathers and analyzes information to generate and evaluate potential solutions to problems, issues and challenges while weighing the accuracy and relevance of the facts, data and information
• Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
• Prior experience with data categorization
• Prior experience with US grocery retail
• Understanding of UPC, PLU, RCN, GTIN14  codes in retail
• Primary grocery shopper for household
