Remote Commercial Doors Detailer MUST HAVE COMSENSE & COMMERCIAL DOOR EXPERIENCE Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Commercial Doors Detailer to prepare accurate shop drawings, door schedules, and hardware documentation for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will translate architectural specifications into detailed fabrication and installation documents, coordinate with project teams and manufacturers, and ensure door/frame/hardware packages meet project requirements, codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed shop drawings and submittals for commercial doors, frames, and hardware based on architectural drawings and specifications. Create and maintain door and hardware schedules, including DHF (Door Hardware) documentation and finish selections. Develop and update fabrication details and installation instructions for door assemblies and components. Use Comsense and other estimating/takeoff tools to verify quantities and support quoting and procurement. Coordinate with architects, general contractors, manufacturers, and field teams to resolve design conflicts and respond to RFIs and clarifications. Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility standards (ADA) and project-specific requirements. Review and incorporate revisions, change orders, and site conditions into working drawings and schedules. Maintain organized project files, revision logs, and deliverables for remote collaboration. Provide technical support to project managers and installation teams during pre-construction and construction phases. Participate in virtual meetings to review drawings, schedule deliveries, and troubleshoot installation issues. Qualifications 3+ years of experience detailing commercial doors, frames, and hardware for construction projects (remote experience a plus). Proficiency with Comsense. Strong working knowledge of doors, frames, hardware, and architectural door systems. Familiarity with DHF documentation and hardware schedules, and experience producing complete door hardware packages. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote coordination and client interaction. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Technical diploma or degree in architectural technology, construction management, or equivalent experience preferred.
