[Remote] Founding Mechanical Design Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Karh is building modular, utility-scale battery energy storage and fleet EV charging infrastructure for cities, large fleets, and critical facilities. The Founding Mechanical Design Engineer will execute mechanical designs across structural, electro-mechanical, industrial, mechatronics, robotics, thermodynamics, power electronics, HVAC, and infrastructure hardware systems using advanced engineering and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• As a Founding Mechanical Engineer, you will initiate, rapid-fire and roll-up your sleaves without anyone ever asking you to show up, and use your 15-20 years of SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, Autodesk Inventor - for which you have licenses and use every day, and bring your wide ranging experience in structural, electro-mechanical, industrial, mechatronics, robotics, thermodynamics, power electronics, HVAC and infrastructure hardware enclosure and mechanical designs experience to execute the basic design requirements provided

Skills

• 20 years of Mechanical Engineering and Product Design skills
• Hands-on experience, including mechanisms, machines, robots, enclosures, and structural systems
• Expertise in Mechanical Engineering principles, incl thermals, structural, fluid, electro-mechanical
• Deep fluency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drawings
• PhD Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (MSc / MS with 15-20 years work)
• Experience designing products for manufacturability, fabrication and contract manufacturers
• Ability to work effectively in a small, fast-paced team, take ownership of projects, and communicate clearly across disciplines at extreme fast and high-performance, high-stakes environment
• Ivy league alum
• Familiarity with energy storage, power electronics enclosures, or industrial equipment is a strong plus
