Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dahl Consulting is offering a 12-month contract opportunity supporting cloud security for a large retail organization. The GCP Cloud Security Engineer will design secure cloud foundations, modernize cloud security posture management, advance Policy-as-Code frameworks, and drive automated risk reduction across enterprise cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Design Secure Cloud Foundations
- Create and maintain secure cloud architecture patterns and reference implementations across GCP, Azure, and AWS
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure automation that enable secure cloud adoption at scale
- Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls early in the development lifecycle
- Modernize Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)
- Lead evaluation, implementation, and optimization of enterprise CSPM capabilities
- Leverage Wiz to identify, prioritize, and reduce cloud security risks
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering and security teams to improve cloud visibility and governance
- Advance Policy-as-Code
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Policy-as-Code frameworks using Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Rego
- Build reusable policy libraries that automate compliance and enforce secure deployment standards
- Integrate policy enforcement into CI/CD pipelines and cloud workflows
- Drive Measurable Risk Reduction
- Identify security gaps and partner with engineering teams to develop scalable remediation strategies
- Implement automated controls that strengthen governance while minimizing operational friction
- Improve the organization's overall cloud security maturity through engineering-driven solutions
Skills
- GCP Professional Certification
- Hands-on experience writing Policy-as-Code like OPA/Rego, Sentinel, or CEL
- Hands-on Wiz experience
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering or cloud security with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in enterprise environments
- Current Google Cloud Professional certification
- Proven experience building and maintaining Policy-as-Code solutions using Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Rego
- Experience creating reusable policy libraries that enforce cloud security and compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience with Wiz or similar Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) platforms
- 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining production Terraform code
- Strong automation and scripting skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD practices, and cloud automation
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, compute, storage, databases, and security architecture
- Experience designing secure cloud deployment patterns and implementing enterprise cloud security controls
- Ability to analyze complex security challenges and develop practical, scalable solutions
