[Remote] Interim Tax Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. UHY-US is recruiting for an undisclosed client for an Interim Tax Consultant. The role supports day-to-day tax activities and compliance, including sales tax research, documentation, reconciliations, returns, and audit requests.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day tax activities and general tax compliance processes
• Assist with sales tax research, calculations, reporting, and compliance as needed
• Prepare, review, and organize tax documentation, schedules, and supporting records
• Assist with gathering and validating financial data for tax-related purposes
• Review transactions and records for accuracy and completeness
• Help identify and resolve discrepancies in tax documentation and financial information
• Support the preparation and filing of applicable tax returns and related reports
• Research basic tax questions and help identify relevant tax rules and requirements
• Maintain organized tax files and documentation to support reporting and compliance
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to obtain necessary information and resolve tax-related questions
• Assist with tax reconciliations and related account reviews
• Support audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to information requests
• Help monitor tax deadlines and ensure assigned tasks are completed on time
• Assist with ad hoc tax projects and other duties as assigned

Skills

• Experience supporting general tax activities, tax compliance, or related accounting functions
• Familiarity with tax documentation, financial records, and basic tax concepts
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to review financial information, identify discrepancies, and follow through on corrections
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications
• Flexibility to support a range of tax-related responsibilities as business needs evolve
• Exposure to sales tax processes, reporting, or compliance preferred
