[Remote] IT Infrastructure Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sumer is a professional services group undergoing a major transformation to consolidate multiple accountancy firms into a centralized Microsoft Azure environment. The IT Infrastructure Analyst will migrate legacy infrastructure, systems, and services to Azure while maintaining security, compliance, and governance. The role will also troubleshoot migration issues, document technical processes, manage risks, and transfer knowledge to internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the migration of infrastructure, systems, and services into Azure
• Assess and document existing environments (on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-based)
• Design and implement migration strategies (lift-and-shift, replatforming, or modernisation)
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance standards are maintained throughout
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues
• Collaborate with project managers to track progress and manage risks
• Produce clear technical documentation and handover materials
• Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams post-migration
• Servers and virtual machines
• Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID)
• File services and storage
• Line-of-business applications
• Support tenant consolidation and identity integration across multiple entities

Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
• Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage
• Azure Migrate and related tooling
• Azure AD / Entra ID, identity management, and hybrid identity
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure migration or transformation projects
• On-premises environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
• Existing cloud platforms (Azure / AWS)
• Networking (VPNs, firewalls, routing)
• Security best practices in cloud environments
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant migrations
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience within professional services or accountancy firms
• Familiarity with accountancy platforms such as CCH & IRIS
• Azure Landing Zones
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g. ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
• Endpoint management (Intune)
• Data migration tools and strategies
