[Remote] Lead Security Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Critical Start provides managed security services, including 24/7 detection, investigation, and response across IT and OT. The Lead Security Analyst supervises and develops SOC analysts while supporting information security monitoring, incident response, escalation reviews, and team training.

Responsibilities

• The Lead Security Analyst assumes the role of the first-line supervisor for analysts within the SOC
• They receive and respond to potential security incidents that have been escalated by the security analysts
• Review the case notes provided by analysts, and if necessary, conduct further in-depth analysis. This may involve analyzing payloads, signatures, attackers, IOC's, and threat intelligence
• Act as mentors and trainers for Senior and Principal Analysts, providing on-the-job training (OJT) and structured technical training
• Conduct escalation and orchestration reviews to ensure quality assurance
• Take responsibility for team training initiatives aimed at improving the overall efficiency of the SOC

Skills

• The ideal candidate will excel in communication, confidently engaging with individuals at all levels of management within the organization
• Additionally, they should demonstrate exceptional interview and screening skills, be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and consistently uphold a high level of confidentiality
• 2-3 years of experience in Information Security
• Possession of CASP+ certification or an equivalent or higher certification
• Certifications in MDR Tool Suite from relevant vendors
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
• Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner
• Make timely decisions in the context of workflow
• Ability to complete tasks and perform in situations requiring speed deadlines, or productivity quota
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress situations
• Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex problems
