Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Legal Citation Specialist to review Bluebook grading rubrics and develop cite-checking tasks. The role applies citation rules consistently, flags ambiguous cases, and delivers accurate work on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Review existing Bluebook grading rubrics to identify unclear rules
- Identify edge cases that rubrics don t currently cover
- Create sample cite-checking tasks with realistic errors
- Build tasks across various citation types and difficulty levels
- Apply Bluebook rules consistently across all submissions
- Flag ambiguous cases to project coordinators for clarification
- Deliver assigned work on schedule and meet quality requirements
Skills
- Must be a current or recent law student or graduate
- Hands-on experience with Bluebook citation is necessary
- Familiarity with law journal editing or cite-checking roles
- Strong analytical skills to explain citation errors
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Experience with detailed review work for extended periods
- Knowledge of citation types, formatting, and edits
