Work Environment

The role will be entirely remote, providing you with the flexibility to create your own workspace while working alongside a supportive team. You will utilize telehealth platforms to conduct sessions, ensuring effective communication and support for clients who may face barriers to in-person visits. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough client assessments to determine their unique needs and treatment goals, employing a variety of assessment tools and procedures.
• Create and implement personalized treatment plans that are tailored to each individual, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as necessary.
• Provide vital education and resources to clients and their families, empowering them with knowledge about mental health issues and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals, including primary care providers and social workers, to deliver comprehensive and cohesive care for clients.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, webinars, and training sessions to enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Winter Therapy, you will work with a diverse clientele facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and relationship concerns. Your role is pivotal in providing culturally competent care that respects and understands the individual backgrounds and experiences of each client.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Mental health licensure in New York State (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LMHC) is mandatory.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with clients virtually.
• Proficient in technology and telehealth systems to ensure seamless service delivery.

Preferred Experience While a minimum of 2 years of prior experience as a mental health counselor is required, we also value additional qualifications, including specialized training in specific therapeutic modalities or working with specific populations. Experience in a telehealth setting is a plus, and any familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be highly regarded.
