RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and verification of Boiling Water Reactor mechanical Balance of Plant systems. The role develops and oversees system designs, manages requirements, and supports verification, testing, licensing, and quality activities in coordination with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop system design specifications, perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and support licensing activities
• Perform design oversight for piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), logic diagrams, process flow calculations and diagrams, equipment sizing, and detection/suppression system design documents
• Manage product and system requirements, specifications, and requirements flow-down
• Evaluate design alternatives, conduct trade studies, and verify design integration and execution
• Drive system validation and verification activities, including system-level testing
• Integrate components and products to optimize performance and operability
• Develop technical and management processes to improve team and customer productivity
• Liaise with customers in partnership with engineering leadership and project management
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete system design activities
• Improve project execution and department processes using lean methodologies and Design to Cost principles
• Support new product and technology development
• Implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from quality noncompliance monitoring and audits

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in a regulated industry
• Master's degree in an engineering or technical discipline
• Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license qualifications or plant experience
• Experience working in a regulated nuclear environment
• Knowledge of quality standards and systems, including NQA-1 and ISO 9000
• Experience in or interest in the nuclear power industry
• Radiological waste management experience
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic design environment while maintaining a commitment to personal and nuclear safety
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
