Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Optomi, in partnership with a major client, is seeking a Senior Network Software (Automation) Engineer to support network projects and automate processes within the network engineering team. The role focuses on troubleshooting enterprise network connectivity, deploying SDWAN solutions, developing network automation, and communicating with IT departments, stakeholders, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot various network and connectivity issues- DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, etc- will work primarily with Cisco equipment
- SDWAN deployments- using Silverpeak in this role but can have experience with other SDWAN platforms
- Automating various network functions, projects, and processes- team uses Python but open to other languages as well
- Communicating with other IT departments, stakeholders, and customers- large scale enterprise network
- Network troubleshooting skills, including fundamentals such as OSI layers, ARP, packet captures, and DHCP
Skills
- A combination of network engineering and automation knowledge
- Strong experience with route, switch, firewall, DNS/DHCP, SDWAN and other networking tools
- Automation knowledge related to the network, connectivity, new sites, etc- Python, Terraform, YAML, Ansible or other automation tools
- Experience in a large enterprise network communicating with many different teams and stakeholders
- Ability to participate in live technical lab interviews
- Any RF or cellular experience
