Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician | OptumRx 🏠 100% Remote | Work EST, CST, or PST 💲 $20.50/hr 📅 Start Date: November 16 ⏳ 10-Month Contract + Potential Extensions 🕘 Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Are you a Certified Pharmacy Technician looking to transition away from the retail pharmacy environment and into a rewarding remote healthcare role? Join OptumRx as a Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician and help patients gain access to the medications they need. In this role, you will work directly with providers, pharmacies, members, and pharmacists to support the prior authorization process while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.
What You'll Do
Receive and handle inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members regarding medication prior authorizations Process high volumes of prior authorization requests and inquiries Review requests submitted via phone, fax, and electronic systems Gather and verify patient, provider, and medication information Enter and maintain documentation across multiple systems Follow up with provider offices and pharmacies to obtain missing information Collaborate closely with pharmacists who make final clinical coverage determinations Meet established productivity, quality, and turnaround-time goals What Makes This Different from Retail Pharmacy? This fully remote position combines pharmacy knowledge, customer service, and administrative case management in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Qualifications ✅ Active PTCB Certification and/or State Board of Pharmacy Technician License ✅ 6+ months of customer service or customer relations experience with healthcare professionals ✅ Comfortable working in a high-volume call center environment ✅ Strong computer and multitasking skills, including: Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook Navigating multiple systems and screens simultaneously ✅ Excellent communication and organizational skills Why Join OptumRx?
