Remote Position
[Remote] Product Manager
๐ Remote ยท United States
๐ผ Full-time
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bitfocus is hiring a Product Manager to shape Clarity Human Services and related data products used by homelessness response systems. The role translates community and customer needs into prioritized product enhancements, clear engineering requirements, and user-centered designs, while partnering with Engineering and other teams.
Responsibilities
- Shape the product. Define, prioritize, and drive enhancements based on user needs, market trends, and what the system can do today
- Write requirements Engineering can build from. Produce clear, structured requirements and specifications, supported by flowcharts and basic UML diagrams where they help, and keep them current as requirements and project goals change
- Design with users in mind. Create and refine user workflows, wireframes, and prototypes, then test them before they reach development
- Listen to customers. Take part in customer onboarding, usability testing, user interviews, and our Feature Focus Q&A rotation, and turn what you hear into product decisions
- Partner across teams. Work with Engineering, customer-facing teams, and senior stakeholders to align on priorities, adjusting how you explain complex topics to each audience
- Keep the backlog ready. Get documentation and design done ahead of engineering capacity so the teams you support always have meaningful work queued
- Spot risks early. Identify gaps, dependencies, and unclear requirements before they slow a release, and use data and stakeholder input to make the call on what to do about them
- Work with modern tools. Use Jira, Confluence, Figma, Claude, Gemini, and similar tools to track, document, and design your work
Skills
- People with lived experience of homelessness are strongly encouraged to apply
- At least 3 years in product management, business analysis, or a related role
- Experience documenting software requirements and producing structured technical documentation
- You find creative and effective solutions to complex problems with minimal direction, weigh competing priorities, raise risks early, and explain what comes first and why
- You apply UX principles and user personas and can design basic user flows and prototypes
- You explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, share context early, work well asynchronously, build working relationships, and welcome feedback
- You handle sensitive customer and community information with care, keep your commitments, and are honest about what you don't know or got wrong
- You're eager to explore and evaluate emerging technologies and modern software tools, including AI tools, and you can recommend where they apply to product work
- Experience with social services software, particularly Clarity Human Services or similar HMIS platforms
- An understanding of homeless response systems, HMIS functions, and industry regulations
- Familiarity with API design, data integrations, and interoperability standards, such as RESTful APIs and data exchange protocols
- Experience with cloud data platforms, such as Snowflake
