Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SAIC is a mission integrator focused on applying technology and innovation to defense, space, intelligence, and civilian missions. The Lead R&D Project Manager will support COBRA and advance Army Maneuver capabilities by managing research and development projects, translating operational needs into technical solutions, coordinating engineering activities, and supporting evaluations and integration events.
Responsibilities
- Manage R&D project planning, schedule, cost, risk, and technical performance
- Translate maneuver operational needs into technical requirements and prototypes
- Coordinate cross‑functional engineering (systems, hardware, software, test)
- Support user evaluations/Soldier touchpoints, experiments, and integration events
- Ensure compliance with Army/DoD standards, acquisition processes, and reporting
- Interface with Army Maneuver stakeholders, DEVCOM, T2COM, and MFCD leadership
Skills
- BS & 6+ years R&D project/program management experience supporting Army Maneuver or combat arms modernization
- Background in maneuver‑enabling technologies (mobility systems, robotics/autonomy, actuation/controls, survivability systems)
- Experience with Army modernization priorities: protected mobility, adaptive sustainment, deep sensing, C2 resilience
- Strong DoD acquisition knowledge; TRL progression; prototype‑to‑program transitions
- SECRET clearance
- Experience with actuation/flight controls, unmanned systems, platform integration
- Familiarity with MDO concepts and Maneuver modernization strategy
- Experience with DEVCOM/T2COM/PEO partners
