Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Connexa Search Group is recruiting for an unnamed mission-driven services organization. The Senior Accountant will own key parts of the close, manage accounts receivable, support financial reporting, and lead finance systems and compliance projects.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Controller to drive month-end and year-end close, independently owning key areas of the process
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, investigate variances, and strengthen controls
- Manage accounts receivable end to end, including invoicing, collections tracking, and aging analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and support forecasting and variance analysis
- Project-manage compliance initiatives from research through filing, including foreign qualification and sales tax registrations
- Lead finance systems initiatives, including evaluating current tools and supporting a planned ERP migration
- Design and document new processes as operations scale
- Prepare documentation for external audits and tax filings in line with US GAAP
- Serve as a project point of contact across Finance, coordinating timelines and stakeholders
Skills
- Progressive accounting experience with significant ownership of month-end and year-end close
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Has led, not just supported, at least one process-improvement, compliance, or systems project
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables and lookups
- Solid understanding of US GAAP
- Comfortable evaluating and recommending new technologies, including AI-enabled tools and ERP platforms
- Highly detail-oriented, with strong business acumen and clear communication across teams
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Genuine alignment with a mission-driven organization
- CPA or other professional certification
