[Remote] Senior Business Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. First Citizens Bank seeks a Senior Business Analyst to assess factors affecting profitability, growth, and efficiency and support strategic initiatives. The role conducts advanced data analysis and reporting, develops process improvements and business specifications, and provides operational guidance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assesses a wide scope of factors affecting business profitability, growth, and efficiency, and aids strategic initiatives to address identified issues
• Evaluates current practices, collects information and industry trends, and creates specifications to support business initiatives
• Develops and implements process improvements
• Participates in special analytical projects and advanced technical reporting
• Provides expert support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to continuously improve business practices
• Handles escalated matters that arise during daily operations, providing guidance to lower-level business analysts and leading workflow
• Develops and implements modifications and enhancements
• Serves as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units
• Determines business needs through highly technical analysis and reporting
• Develops strategies to achieve company and department goals, and communicates these through the use of specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation
• Produces reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities
• Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement
• Develops process enhancements based on reporting
• Sources, compiles, and interprets data
• Performs data analysis on an advanced level, effectively communicating and directing analysis output

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related field plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or related occupation
• A Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related field plus four (4) years of experience in job offered or as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or related occupation
• At least three (3) years of banking experience
• Experience with Database management
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI to visualize data trends and analyze data
• Experience with SAS, R, and Python to perform enhanced data mining and leverage programming to analyze complex data
• Experience with ETL and SAS or SQL from extraction to complex data transformations within a relational database environment
