[Remote] Senior Data Analyst, Procurement and Spend (Part-Time) or Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TechSilo is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to lead procurement and spend analysis for a public university system. The role focuses on reconciling and classifying multi-campus purchasing records, documenting data quality and coverage, and preparing reliable datasets for dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and spend analysis for a public university system: what is bought, from whom, where, and how it is changing
• Reconcile and classify records across campuses and reporting years, and build the crosswalks that make them comparable
• Keep original values traceable, and log data-quality problems and how each was resolved
• Write a coverage statement for every dataset: who reported, which periods, what is missing
• Prepare clean datasets for dashboards and reports, and work with the Data Scientist and dashboard developers
• Serve as primary analyst or Task Lead on smaller assignments

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in analytics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• At least 7 years of professional experience in data analysis
• Advanced SQL and Excel, plus Python or R for cleaning and reconciling data
• Experience reconciling and cleaning large, inconsistent datasets from multiple sources, including normalizing supplier, product, and unit data
• A habit of documenting every transformation so another analyst can repeat it
• Clear written explanations of what the data shows and where it stops
• Experience with procurement or spend analytics, including commodity or product classification
• Experience with sustainability, food, plastics, or waste data
• Work for a university, a public agency, or another organization made of many separate entities
• Familiarity with Power BI
