[Remote] Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Edison Smart® is hiring a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer for a growing defense technology company developing next-generation directed energy systems. The role owns the end-to-end infrastructure environment, including Azure Government, M365 GCC High, Linux systems, networking, identity and access, endpoint management, baseline security controls, site builds, and critical infrastructure incident response.

Responsibilities

• Azure Government & M365 GCC High: subscriptions, governance, policy, cost
• On-prem Linux estate (Ubuntu/Debian), virtualization and ZFS storage, GPU compute
• Identity and access: Entra ID, Conditional Access, privileged access
• Endpoint management across Windows and macOS (Intune)
• Baseline security controls (NIST SP 800-171 / CMMC), a dedicated Security Analyst will own deeper security work separately
• Standing up new sites, including physical network/firewall/infrastructure builds
• On-call rotation and incident response for critical infrastructure

Skills

• 7+ years in infrastructure, systems or cloud engineering, hands-on and architecture-capable, not just administering an established environment
• Deep Azure and M365 admin experience
• Strong Entra ID / identity engineering
• Experience with CMMC and GCC High
• Production Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian, systemd, SSH hardening)
• Solid networking fundamentals (routing, VLANs, DNS, TLS, VPN, firewall)
• PowerShell plus Bash or Python
• Must be a U.S. Person under export control regulations (ITAR/EAR)
