[Remote] Senior Manager, Lease Accounting

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Grubhub Holdings Inc. is hiring a Senior Manager, Lease Accounting to manage the company’s lease accounting as a hands-on individual contributor. The role oversees lease accounting processes, financial reporting, compliance, audits, and improvements while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, and completing account reconciliations for lease and related accounts
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Real Estate, Legal, and Accounts Payable to gather accurate lease data in a timely manner
• Review and validate the accuracy of all lease abstracts provided by the firm, ensuring critical data points (e.g., lease term, rent commencement date, renewal options, and incentives) are correctly captured
• Assist with the implementation of internal lease accounting processes and workflows for transactions between wholly owned entities
• Develop and maintain a methodology for calculating and supporting the IBR
• Ensure compliance with all relevant lease accounting standards (ASC 842) and company policies
• Lead the review, reconciliation, and audit of annual Common Area Maintenance statements
• Partner with the team to oversee the end-to-end process for the timely payment of all base rent, operating expenses, and other lease-related charges
• Assist with external and internal audits by providing documentation, schedules, financial disclosures and explanations for lease-related accounts
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of lease accounting procedures
• Participate in special projects, optimization initiatives, ERP & lease tool enhancements, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses

Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with specialized experience in lease accounting
• Hands-on experience with a major lease accounting software platform (*e.g., CoStar, LeaseQuery, Tango Analytics, etc.*)
• Expert-level knowledge of lease accounting principles and financial analysis
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics) , Microsoft Excel (e.g., v/xlookup, PivotTables, sumproduct), and with databases (e.g. SQL, BigQuery)
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
