Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Arethia is hiring a Senior Project Manager to independently lead complex, cross-functional projects and recover projects that have gone off track. The role also contributes to project management standards and methods, supports and coaches project managers, and builds project management practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership – Lead large, cross-functional projects independently from initiation to closure, including planning, governance, steering committees and stakeholder management
- Problem Solving - Facilitate and actively participate in problem-solving sessions to drive project success
- Project Recovery – Take over projects that have drifted off course or lost their lead, diagnose what went wrong and re-establish structure as interim or permanent lead
- Stakeholder Management – Navigate demanding situations with senior leadership and across departments and prepare well-founded decisions for steering committees
- Quality and Coaching – Support department-led projects as quality assurance and sparring partner and coach project managers on their deliverables
- Standards and Methods – Contribute to our project management standards, templates and training formats, and turn project experience into reusable methods
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Several years of experience independently leading complex, cross-functional projects with full ownership from initiation to closure
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and navigating conflicting interests across departments
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience taking over or stabilising projects already in progress
- Ability to work independently, propose solutions and make decisions within your remit
- Business-level communication skills in German and English (C1)
- Experience in applying common project management tools, e.g. for task and milestone tracking
- Experience with an ERP or comparable large-scale system implementation
- IPMA Level C or equivalent
- A higher level is a plus
- Experience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment
- Experience developing project management standards, templates or training formats
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience working in an international, multi-site organisation
