They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-based applications that serve libraries and their users around the globe.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions within the Cloud Library platform
- Build high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable applications across front-end and back-end systems
- Develop and enhance cloud-native services and APIs supporting business-critical applications
- Participate in all phases of software development, including requirements analysis, architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and support
- Contribute to modernization initiatives and continuous improvement of systems and processes
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to engineering team members
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through collaboration, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Promote engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards
- Help identify technical debt and recommend strategic improvements
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality, security, and performance standards
- Support CI/CD processes and DevOps practices to enable reliable software delivery
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while participating in operational support activities
- Participate in monitoring, observability, and incident response efforts
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business objectives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and/or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience developing scalable web applications and distributed systems
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js
- Experience working with relational database technologies
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with cloud-native application architecture and distributed systems
- Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing SaaS applications
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality
