[Remote] Senior Software Engineer, R&D Informatics

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Terray Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its R&D Informatics team. The role develops and maintains backend systems, data pipelines, and user interfaces that support wet-lab and computational drug discovery platforms, working closely with scientists to connect and analyze research data.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new internal applications to help our wet-lab and computational scientists analyze vast amounts of data
• Integrate commercial ELN/LIMS applications with our internal informatics platform
• Maintain and contribute to the Terray codebase across multiple platforms (data science, computational chemistry, machine learning, etc.)
• Work with both wet-lab and computational scientists to design and develop connections to our informatics systems API and database
• Write unit and integration tests, assist with documentation, and participate in code review process

Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Highly proficient in Python and the PyData stack (numpy, pandas, scipy, scikit-learn, etc.)
• Proficiency in Linux environment, experience with database languages, and experience with version control practices and tools
• Familiar with AWS cloud resources
• Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, production-ready code
• Knowledge of coding best practices, including standards, reviews, version control, and unit testing
• Knowledge of API design
• Experience with building data-focused dashboards and user interfaces
• Previous scientific and/or research informatics experience in the small molecule drug discovery/biotechnology industry
• Experience using LLM coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor
• Experience building user interfaces using TypeScript and frameworks such as ReactJS and Vue.js
