[Remote] Senior Tax Professional - AI Tax Engineer (Remote)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Filed is building an AI tax preparation platform for accounting firms. The AI Tax Engineer brings tax expertise to product and engineering decisions, sets quality standards, and works with customer firms to turn their practice needs into product direction.

Responsibilities

• Being a tax expert at the center of how Filed works, alongside our team of CPAs, and setting the standard for quality across everything we ship
• Partnering with product and engineering to decide what we build next, from document intake through to tax planning
• Working closely with customer firms, understanding how they run their practices, and turning that into product direction

Skills

• Has years of practice behind them and strong views on how the work should be done
• Cares about the profession and wants to see it valued for judgment, not hours
• Can explain a technical tax position clearly to people outside tax
• Is curious about how technology can change the work
• Is comfortable pushing back on anyone, including us
• Licensed CPA with at least 5 years of experience
• Deep experience in at least one of CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake or ProConnect
• Comfortable across individual and business returns, including partnerships and K-1s
• Clear writing
• Strategic thinking
• Ownership
• Comfort with ambiguity and a small team that moves fast
• Credibility with partners and preparers alike
