[Remote] Software Engineer II, Developer Platform

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Etsy is a global marketplace for unique and creative goods, building tools and technologies that connect entrepreneurs with buyers. The company is seeking a Software Engineer to improve development workflows and environments by building infrastructure and tooling for CI/CD, developer environments, and engineering architecture.

Responsibilities

• Stand-ups, sprint planning, and retros along with other agile ceremonies
• On-call rotations and Slack support for our engineering "customers"
• Pull request reviews and discussions with a focus on quality software engineering practices
• Writing and updating documentation with clear protocols for other engineers to follow
• Collaborating with engineers across teams to solve shared problems

Skills

• Curiosity and a desire to keep learning, including picking up new frameworks and technologies as problems demand
• Ability to work collaboratively and take direction well while building toward greater independence over time
• Care about shipping complete, well-tested work, not just getting features across the finish line
• Organized and attentive to detail, with an appreciation for tests and documentation
• Some exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Chef, or similar) or willingness to learn
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, non-production environments, and software development lifecycle workflows
• We prioritize candidates based within commutable distance of Etsy's Brooklyn Office. Depending on proximity, we ask team members to come in once or twice per week. Remote candidates outside commutable distance may be considered on a case-by-case basis, with the expectation of occasional travel to the office
