[Remote] Software Engineer Intern - Summer 2027

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Siemens is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for its Asset Management Software team. The intern will build and test features for a production SaaS asset management platform, using AI tools and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and testing features that incorporate AI-assisted capabilities across our platform
• Using AI coding tools as an active part of your development workflow
• Writing automated tests and participating in peer code reviews
• Debugging production issues and contributing findings to postmortems
• Collaborating with product managers and designers on sprint deliverables

Skills

• Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States
• Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in at least one: Java, C#, Python, TypeScript, or Go
• Familiarity with Git, REST APIs, and SQL
• Curiosity about how AI is changing software development and product experiences
• Experience using AI tools in coursework, personal projects, or prior work
• Exposure to ML concepts, LLMs, or data pipelines (even academic)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Comfort working asynchronously in a distributed, AI-augmented team environment

Benefits

• The role is remotely based within the United States; the successful candidate is required to attend their first week of employment onsite in Raleigh, NC, after which the role will be fully remote.
