[Remote] Staff Accountant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Numera is a CPA and accounting services firm hiring a Staff Accountant for its myStartUp CFO team. The role supports US-based clients by managing month-end and year-end close, preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial records
• Support accruals, prepayments, adjusting entries, and variance analysis
• Assist with consolidations and reporting across multiple entities, where applicable
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions
• Support budgeting, cash flow reporting, and audit requests
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and meet reporting deadlines
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and established accounting procedures

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably supporting US-based businesses
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines
• Applicants must be US Green Card holders (lawful permanent residents)
• Candidates must be able to work in the United States without employer-sponsored immigration support
• CPA or other relevant accounting qualification
• Experience in a CPA firm, outsourced accounting, or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment
• Experience handling multiple clients or entities
• Exposure to revenue recognition, consolidations, and management reporting
