Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. MARA is seeking a Strategic Finance & Capital Markets Associate to support capital structure, capital raising, and capital allocation decisions. The role focuses on financial modeling, liquidity forecasting, valuation analysis, treasury support, and strategic reporting to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Support the Treasurer in executing capital raises across debt, equity, convertible, and structured financing, including pricing, terms, and pro forma capitalization analysis
- Analyze capital structure alternatives and their impact on leverage, liquidity, cost of capital, and dilution
- Help manage relationships with MARA’s corporate and investment banking partners
- Support daily treasury operations, including cash management, bank administration, and debt and covenant tracking
- Assist in maintaining the consolidated corporate financial model and short- and long-term liquidity forecasts, including scenario and sensitivity analyses
- Benchmark MARA against public peers and perform valuation analysis (trading comps, precedent transactions, DCF, sum-of-the-parts)
- Monitor peer and market developments, including earnings, capital raises, and M&A, and assess implications for MARA
- Partner with FP&A on budgets, long-term plans, and variance analysis
- Prepare strategic presentations and analysis for the Board of Directors and MARA senior management
- Translate financial analysis into clear, executive-ready narratives, charts, and summaries, coordinating with cross-functional teams ahead of key meetings
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, strategic finance, corporate finance, or FP&A
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (three-statement, DCF, comparable companies, and returns analysis); advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working with ERP or finance systems
- Comfort using AI productivity tools (Claude or similar) to accelerate analytical workflows
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both financial and non-financial stakeholders, including senior executives and external banking partners
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Prior experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, equity research, or a corporate capital markets or treasury function
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence or dashboard tools
- Familiarity with driver-based forecasting or operational modeling
- Experience with FP&A planning platforms
- Familiarity with the data center, digital infrastructure, or power sectors
