[Remote] TECH211: Senior Data Engineer - ETL | Data Integration

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. The Senior Data Engineer will stabilize and scale core data pipelines, ensuring reliable ETL/ELT workflows, secure data access, sound data modeling, API integration, and long-term data platform sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Designing, configuring, and monitoring production grade ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest unstructured and structured data from third party data sources into our MySQL operational data warehouse using integrate.io, Google Apps Script/JavaScript
• Defining and auditing data access permissions, ensuring security guardrails are maintained as user access privileges rotate
• Writing and debugging custom scripts and database queries to interact with native platform APIs
• Normalizing and mapping complex, disparate schemas from Salesforce CRM, iCIMS talent data, and Jira ticketing systems, and others. Design and maintain analytical models including fact and dimension tables
• Manage schema changes, late arriving data, and source inconsistencies. Ensure data quality, consistency
• Provide technical leadership and define data integration best practices and standards

Skills

• FIVE or more years of hands on experience in data engineering or data platform roles
• Google Apps Script/JavaScript, Integrate.io or similar ETL platforms, mySQL, Python
• Proven experience integrating external APIs and third party systems
• Deep understanding of dimensional modeling and warehouse architecture
