[Remote] UX Designer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Arize AI builds an AI observability and evaluation platform for teams developing AI systems. The UX Designer will improve the product’s end-to-end experience by researching user friction, prototyping and refining interactions, and implementing usable, polished design solutions with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the "look and experience" of the product end to end:
• Identify pain points
• Watch real users in Fullstory, identify friction points, and fix them
• Prototype interaction alternatives rapidly (in Figma or code) to test different approaches
• Create, refine, and iterate on UX flows and interaction patterns
• Work closely with our Senior engineers who own feature architecture - they build the foundation, you perfect the interface
• Run lightweight usability tests to validate improvements
• Build reusable interaction patterns that the team can leverage
• Watching 10 user sessions, identifying common friction points
• Meeting with users to get deeper on new product features feedback
• Prototyping different flows in Figma
• Implementing design improvements with smooth transitions and helpful inline guidance
• Pairing with Staff engineers to refactor a complex form into a multi-step wizard
• Running a quick usability test with 5 users on the new onboarding flow

Skills

• You have an engineering background - you've either been an frontend developer, have an engineering degree, or you have used Claude Code/Cursor to make impactful design changes
• You've worked on complex tools (dev tools, data tools, B2B SaaS) where UX really matters
• You've made products noticeably better through refinement (show us!)
• You've built or contributed to design systems and animation libraries
• You've used feedback collection tools and incorporated user feedback into designs
• You can work in Figma to wireframe and create flows to share with fellow engineers
• You think about edge cases, loading states, and empty states automatically
